What this project was
This project was a collaborative project consisting of doing research over the span of one week, researching different questions about the controversial topic of nuclear power.
We specifically researched the pros and cons of these 5 different questions:
"Nuclear energy is a better alternative to fossil fuels."
"Nuclear waste can be disposed of efficiently and safely."
"Nuclear energy is a better alternative to hydro-power, solar, and wind energy."
"Nuclear energy is truly capable of powering our world indefinitely."
"Accidents that can happen at nuclear energy plants are acceptable risks."
We debated against 2 teams from the other class, and one team from our own class. The debate consisted of going through the first section, explaining your sources and reasoning, doing the same for the second focus point, and then doing something we call a "crossfire" which is basically asking questions to one another.

C.R.E.W.
CREW stands for Claim, Reasoning, Evidence, and Warrant. These are my groups crews, since to state an opinion for anything we needed to have one of these. We had two focus points for each question, and we had to study both the pros and the cons. We used the acronym CREW to help us study for the questions, give good arguments, and
Reflection
Some new things I learned how to do in this project is to do quick research in a short amount of time and still be able to give a good argument to my opponent.
What I'm most proud of from this project is how I did a good chunk of the work for my team, but I was still able to help them during the project and I was able to turn this into a group effort instead of a me effort.
What was challenging about this project is having to do 20 different things to research, since we a ha to research a pro and con for 5 different questions, with 2 focus points each, and it felt like a lot of work.
If I were to do this project differently, I'd spend more time helping my team get prepared for the debates.
