The Introduction
Humans of South Bay was our version of the Humans of New York, where we interviewed people who would otherwise not be remembered. As most people who are remembered in history are rich, powerful, and/or affected humans as a race in some way.
We did it to show that these people really do exist and that they DO matter, so that their voice is preserved. (Thanks to the glorious Storycorps!)
In my interview, I decided to interview the Dean of my High School, Ray Trinidad, and you can find that interview on other parts of my DP

Preparing for The Interview
The Interview
The interview took place in Ray's office at the school, and it was about 20 minutes long, recording it with my phone on the Storycorps app. Originally, I thought that it would be an awkward interview, think about it, a Sophomore of your school asking you personal questions about your life? Weird. But it wasn't. It was surprisingly.... calm. He was open to the questions, and took them head on, which made the interview that much more fun and interesting for me.
Interview Outline
This was *supposed* to be a summary of the interview, but I decided to do word for word to increase the workload upfront, but decrease the workload later.

Reflecting
Originally, I interviewed Ray because I didn't have anyone else to interview. I learned that he was super into sports when eh was a kid in elementary school, to where he is now, still in sports. I didn't think of that from a dean, it usually seems like a very academic job, super into school and "nerdy."
He told me after the interview that he felt super at ease from minute one, and that it was a good interview, and he was immediately comfortable. Doing this has made me want do interview something else, maybe one of my friends in Texas, who I really miss.
